I did this for my October wedding 4 years ago and it went over really well! be prepared for people to grab them up immediately even if its not cold (or at least that was my experience)

I had 140 wedding guests and I bought like 40 of them and they were gone in literally a minute – I probably should have gotten more like 60 or 70 in the end but I figured most ppl would have something with them and this was just extra “in case” and mainly for the ladies only (we had multiple other “favors” as well so this was just another “extra” we had like flip flops and bathroom baskets etc to make guests more comfy)

I also had this big idea to use them as decor (specifically to decorate the ceremony chairs – I thought it would be a cute splash of color with the white garden plastic chairs) but in the end I didn’t know if that would make ppl think they weren’t for use and so I just put them in a big basket….

I get a kick out of it 4 years later pretty much every family wedding I go to at least one lady has on the purple pashmina from my wedding! sometimes it will be a sea of purple ladies

(and for the record I used but again this was in 2013 so I can’t vouch for them now but had a good experience – I went directly to the store in NYC though to pick up)

We did pashminas as a favor for our wedding along with some personalized m&ms we got with a Black Friday Groupon deal. I ordered enough for all of the women we invited (including kids and babies). I figured generally the men wouldn’t want one but would be happy their dates were warm 😉 And then everyone could grab m&ms. We put them in a basket in our cocktail area so people could grab at will.

At the end of the night they were a complete hit and people are still talking about how great they were and how I thought of everything. The only one we had left over was one the photographer had put aside to take a picture of, so I have that as a keepsake still rolled up.

I ordered them from Etsy, I think they were about $20 each, but they did bulk pricing so it depends on how many you order.

Actually I just looked at my order and it turns out they were about $4.95 each. I got them from MiaKraftsShop on Etsy (it used to be called Aquilina I think).

I want to do this for my wedding since it can get windy at night. Do you get some for every guest or just the women? I would hate to have a ton leftover and don’t want the men to get left out of a wedding favor.

I assume this is for ceremony only. Do you have an indoor option if the weather is chilly?  I will be honest. If it’s cold, or even just cool, a pashmina or blanket won’t really cut for women in dresses, bare legs, and heels.

i went to a november wedding that had an outdoor ceremony. i did not know there was going to be an outdoor ceremony.  they had about 10 blankets for 80 guests.  i was COLD.

so if you are doing blankets or pashminas.  make sure everyone knows to dress warmy or supply one for everyone.
