I am getting married in January and let my bridemaids select their own gray dresses. I am looking into giving them all matching pashminas or scarves to tie their look together as part of their bridesmaids gifts, but I don’t know whether to go with grey or black! I love the soft look of grey but do not know if it would clash with the shades they have chosen for their dresses. I feel that black would lend to a too dressy for our more casual wedding. What do you all think? Here are our dresses paper doll style:

Are you using an accent color? If so I would do pashminas in that color instead, then it’ll help tie everything in, plus if it compliments grey and black you won’t go wrong! Fuschia or yellow or ice blue come to mind.

@KarenA: Grey was the accent color, haha. The flowers are white, accented with pussy willow. Going for a “natural” feel with wood and candlelight at the reception.

I’d get them just barely off-white pashminas 🙂

The Groomsmen are wearing all black with grey ties (our trees were printed with black ink):

I vote black. You would probably want a different shade of grey to compliment each dress, so that it doesn’t blend in with some of the styles.
The groomsman ties are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see pictures of your wedding – it sounds very elegant.

I think black would tie them together the best

Black or white. We did ivory for our girls with their black dresses, and it looked really nice!
