I absolutely fell in love with the idea of giving out pashminas at the wedding. Our wedding is a summertime mountain wedding, but it’s going to get cold at night. Therefore, I bought enough pashminas for all the female guests at our wedding. Our wedding colors are green, wood and ivory – and the pashminas are all different shades of green, brown, tans, and creams. I love them!
My question is this: should I put the pashminas in a basket (where we put them all and let each guest take one) OR should I put them on the backs of the guests’ chairs (which would add some color to the room)???? I’m not sure whether I would tie them around the chair or just drape them over the back.
If they’re in a basket, they could pick their own color, but I’m a little afraid that people might not see them or take more than one. If they’re on the chairs, I’m afraid that they might not realize they’re gifts or they won’t like their color.
Your thoughts? Basket or chair?

Maybe you could leave them on a chair with a little note accompanying to inform guests that they are theirs to keep? That way you could avoid problems of them missing them or (as I think I might assume), that there weren’t enough to go around. A note on a basket could also let them know it’s theirs to keep, though 🙂

I think you may be looking at the same issue either way….
As a guest If there was a pashmina on the back of my chair I don’t think I would know it was for me to use – i may just think its part of the decor…
So I would either put them on the chairs with a note attached or put them in the basket with a note attached. If you use the basket – I might suggest that the DJ or someone make an announcement to the female guests that you have provided them with their choice of color in a pashmina to keep them warm and to take home.

Thanks guys. I like the idea of putting a note on them if they’re on the back of the chairs…that might solve the problem.

Hi Fellow Bride!
Do you mind if I ask where are you getting the pashminas? I tried searching but they are about $10 pp and I’m looking to cut that in half.
