We are having a buffet style meal.. and we’ll still set the tables.

I really really want pictures of the tables all set up – I talked it over with my parents & fis parents and neither of them thought it would be a huge problem for a guest to carry the plate, one less thing they have to stand in line for.

Our place settings will each consist of :

– 1 dinner plate

– 1 salad plate

– 1 soup bowl

– 1 toasting flute

– 1 water glass

– 1 cupcake stand w/ cupcake

– 1 polyester napkin

– Cutlery

And a favor at each place setting.

I think I must come to your wedding…. Paella? yumm

Why can’t your wait staff put a bowl, family style, on each table?  That way you have the set table you want, and most of your guests you sit at a table togher will know each other.

Seriously yummy paella.

We did something similar, we had a buffet becuase of the variety of our food but still wanted a “set” table. We had all the napkins and flatware on the table, and the salad was pre-plated at the table. We didn’t do chargers because it was an added expense, and the table looked “set” having the salads and everything else there.

I was also going to say family style but if you are going to do buffet, there are still plenty of ways to set the table. I did buffet and filled my tables with the napkins, menu cards, placecards, favors, silverware, glassware, and of course the centerpieces. The plates were at the buffet itself. Here’s how it looked:
