That $75 fee kills me! I just got mine 3 years ago, and now I’ll have to get a new one.  That kind of bummed me out… Just the fact that we have to shell out the $75 is bad enough…

This is probably not the way to do it, but one of my friends just said they “LOST” their old passport and got a new one with the new name. I’m sure its probably illegal too to lie to the government. Just saying……..

But if you can get your old one back for free, I recommend going that route.

I would just say that I lost it!  And then you can apply for a new one with your  new  name!

Yeah my old passport (had to get mine renewed last year) had so many visas and stamps in it that I had to have extra pages put in! I was soooo paranoid about not getting it back, I called the passport office like 5 times to make sure I had all the right procedures. I put a sticky note on the outside of the passport, a piece of paper on the inside, another sticky on the return envelope and a note on the envelope I sent the app and old one in saying “Please return old passport.” Lol, they must have thought I was insane.

I am not changing my name… don’t wanna have to pay to have it changed all over again!! Well, that’s not my only reason, but anyway! I am sure you’ll get yours back!
