I don’t want to get into a religious debate or anything, but after seeing a snippit of a show for Oprah’s new network about a boy’s past life memories… has anyone else here experienced that?
I have… if you asked me 10 years ago about this, I’d vehemently deny it.. but something shifted in the last five years and I remembered some possible experiences. I even was able to nail down the time period and area. I don’t know how or why, but it actually explained a lot of my drawings in early childhood.

I totally believe. I’ve never had any experiences with remembering my own, but I’m a firm believer in it. Like you, I don’t care to get into a religious discussion, but my belief in past lives is a part of my spiritual belief(s) in general.

I do, too. I’ve never had any kind of experiences, but I find it hard to believe that this is it.

I firmly do not believe in past lives. Everybody lives one life IMO

I’m buddhist so I do believe in past life. I don’t have the best memory for right now..so i can’t say I remember anything past yesterday, but I have friends who are really sure about that and I honestly believe them.

I believe it. I can’t remember them, but I can feel them.

@artichokesalad: So…tell us what you know about your past life?
I’m undecided. I don’t really believe it, but I’m not closed to the idea either. Kind of like an agnosticism.

I wish I had some personal experiences to make me think it could be true, but I’m a little skeptical. It sure would be cool though….

@babymilka74: I’m with you – I wouldn’t say I believe in them but I don’t not believe either. I’m just not sure one way or the other.

I believe it is definitely possible. I’d actually probably say it is more likely than not that some of us have had past lives. I wouldn’t say I have memories of other lives… but I do get these sort of vague feelings/memories on the edge of my consciousness that I know are not “mine.” Hard to explain.

I do not believe in past lives. At all.

@babymilka74: I spontaneously remembered some experiences in mughal India. When it happened, I felt it was true with such a strong conviction that I started looking into what a past life was, other religion’s beliefs on it, and other people’s experiences with recall. I’m a pretty rational person. I classified myself as being agnostic for many, many years. And I spent A LOT of time abstractly making considerations of my feelings for it as well as intellectualizing it… and then researching psychiatric disorders which could cause it.
Regarding the drawings… I grew up in rural North Dakota… the only non-caucasian (and non-norske) folks around me were a hispanic family. I had no knowledge of India at all. (Mind you, these were the days you had to have a small fortune to buy a giant satellite dish and then point it to actual satellites for programming)
Lots of drawings with old indian jewelry I’d say around 5-8 years old. Hath panja, tikka, jhumers, and nose rings. I didn’t even know they were ethnic jewelry in that area until I started research about 2-3 years ago. Except the nose ring. I got my nose pierced when I was 18, and always told my parents I would.

I think I do but I can’t say precisely why. Like artichokesalad, I’ve found myself drawn to particular time periods and areas in the past 5-10 years. I find myself drawn to books about ancient Chinese culture and peasant life time and time again. I’ve had quite a few dreams where I’ve been a Chinese man farming my land. It’s very strange. So if that’s who I used to be, that’s pretty cool. If it’s not, maybe I should have married a Chinese farmer?! LOL!
