haha, yes, it probably is a sign that he is gonna propose. BUT he could still sit on the proposal for a while. boys are such curious and mysterious creatures!

so just try to relax and breathe and just enjoy each day without looking for signs that “this could be it”, or what i like to call, “itthisit?-itis” it’s a terrible condition, really. lol. if you can get yourself to not think about it, the better. good luck!

and be sure to hurry back here and let us know when it does happen!

Oh man…. we went and shopped again today and I fell in love AGAIN. When we first started talking rings, there was one night when I was browsing on the computer. I saw a ring I loved and exclaimed “ddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” (like made that sound… i have no idea why). I just got overwhelmed and my brain shut off and I got too excited. Now my boyfriend calls it “My D” and I’m always asking “wheres my d?!”. Today he was like “Want to go look at D’s?”

So exciting. I love ring shopping.

@texaslawgirl:your d huh?! lol!!!

@corgitales:completely over it. i have no idea why or when but it’s like whatever… lol you know what i like we had a heart to heart and i explained a lot of my reasons etc and he listened. financially there’s no way we’re able to afford it, he was laid off tuesday (he got another job immediately for the same money) but he doesn’t start until monday. we’ve had a glorious week relaxing and playing together and just loving each other and i think we’ve decided to down size (again) to a smaller way more affordable place. so i guess i am realizing we don’t have the cash to get a  ring (especially with the business ventures)… and christmas is coming up and we have kids and i’d much rather he spend the money on them than me… i think my reasoning is practical, although i did give him a rubberband earlier in the week 😀

crebre– i sympathize. my boyfriend has a lot of other expenses because of his health and i feel bad asking for him to buy me something so expensive. i can only imagine how much harder that must be with kids. they always need something! have you guys checked out Craigslist in your area? i don’t know how you feel about having a “used” diamond, but to me, a diamond is a diamond– and they are ALL old when you think about it! millions of years old!

we were finding some great deals on craigslist. people selling their wedding sets and engagement rings for cash.

@texaslawgirl: the only issue is i don’t want a diamond, i want aquamarine or blue topaz but in a more modern setting and nope they don’t have them on craigslist, but they have tons of great diamonds. i think he’ll probably get what i want from sam’s or overstock. we’ll see. i do expect it within the next year or so though! i am more excited about reading about everyone else’s proposals than trying to figure out when i’ll get mine… it’s so friggin’ exciting!!

I finally got the point i am not having isthisit-itis moments anymore .probably because i know within which 3 days he is going to do it.I keep myself occupied my looking at random wedding stuff online and by trying unsuccessfully to ask him if i can get a kitty :p

@crebre80, congrats on getting over it! hopefully i can get to that point. for now, it’s only temporary. i know the practical reasons why we’re not engaged yet but the romantic in me sometimes gets the best of me. lol. i’ll be fine for a few weeks but then i get that really bad relapse. sigh. i need to work on that.
