Pave Band Thickness?

  • poll: What band thickness do you prefer for pave?

    1.5 mm

    1.6-1.7 mm

    1.8-1.9 mm

    2.0-2.5 mm

    2.5 mm or above

    Reputable jewelers do not recommend going below 2mm for pave (1.8mm for plain) for durability.  Especially when it comes to e-rings and wedding bands that are worn daily.  The ultra thin look is very trendy right now, but it’s not durable…especially for every day wear.

    2.0mm and above will be safest, especially for pave!

    My pave band is somewhere between the 1.8-1.9mm range. It’s held up well even after accidentally dropping it on stone tiling or banging it against a hard surface! My finger size is 4.25 for reference.

    I have 1.7mm pave (from a reputable jeweler) and have had it for over 6 years with no issues whatsoever.
