Hi Bees!
My SO and I are picking out a ring and planning to get engaged this summer. He wants me to be part of picking out a ring instead of just suprising me, and I’m fine with that since the engagement will be a suprise. For any of you that have side stones on your rings- how large are they? And what are the size of your band? (mm) I want small side stones but he’s afaid they weill look too much like crushed metal from afar.
Please post pics if you can! π

Mine definitely don’t look like crushed metal, but I definitely know what you mean.
My pave side stones sparkle like nobody’s business. My center stone sparkles, but honestly I sometimes notice the pave more.

I don’t know the size of the diamonds- the band is less than 2mm

@jovannarhea: heres my pave ring. I think it’s a 2mm band. You can clearly see the stones IMO. π

Mine has a 0.5 ct centre stone and 38 other small stones totalling another 0.30ct
There are 8 small ones on the underside of the mount that you don’t really see, those ones are harder to tell they’re diamonds but all the side ones and the 2 peek a boos are fantastic. There’s no question they’re all diamonds – I get a lot of comments on the ‘blingyness’ of it. I think the band is 2mm but I’m not sure.

@jovannarhea: Well it’s hard to speculate about all pave settings but I know what your guy means… I’m seen some really crappy settings where you tell what’s going on…. You have to really try several ring with styles of pave to see what looks nice…. All I know is my set looks like a crystal ball of fireworks in certain lighting n I love it….. Hope you find yours that suits you… Here’s my 1.75 ct diamond with pave to Ering n wband

Here’s my ring with side stones. It had 3 sides of pave. Each side is anywhere from 1.5mm – 2mm. I think it sometimes looks like crushed metal, sparkly crushed metal π I also have an eternity band that’s 1.5mm and although very thin it sparkles so much

Quality craftsmanship in the ring helps, I really think it makes a difference.

I don’t have the best photos on my iPad, but my ring really sparkles. I don’t get the crushed metal look at all.
