Hi,
I’m undecided on what to do. I have a pave wedding set but I’m wondering if its worth investing in a plain wedding ring. Seeing that the pave wedding set can be fragile. Had my engagement ring since July and have yet to loose a stone. Would it be worth to invest in a plain wedding ring, for travel or doing house maintenance?

@unosmartcookie: pretty rings!! I got a plain standd alone band for that reason and I’m glad I did! It was about $250 and worth it to me!!

@unosmartcookie: I have a wedding set very similar to yours, and I do wear a plain 2mm white gold band a lot. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with investing in a plain band, I wear mine whenever I’m cleaning, or doing anything rough like camping or canoeing. I’d say go for it. Here are pics of my wedding set and plain band:

I”m currently debating the same thing! My ering is pretty intircate and my band likely will be too. I think i’d like to have a plain band for travel and dirty work 🙂

I work in a hospital and don’t want to wear my rings with stones for infection control reasons. I bought an engraved 3 mm 14K white gold Hawaiian Heirloom band for just under $300 to wear to work.

Updated post: I caved and got a 3mm plain gold band. I prefer the look of it alone, its more pratical than my wedding set. It’s nice just to have an alternative to the diamond band.

@unosmartcookie: Very nice! Isn’t it comfortable? I love my plain band! Mine is also a stand in, and I must say it was money well spent.

I think so!!! Plain bands come in handy a lot!! Since having kids, I only wear rings with stones when I go out.

@unosmartcookie: I do love your set (is it pave or channel set?). I do agree that it is nice to have a plain gold band too. I leave my band on for everything, only removing my set for gucky things like gardening making hamburgers etc. I just love the options.
