We hashed out the entire design in one day, and we had to pay everything upfront for them to get started on the proofs and production. Our order included 2 rounds of proofs. If we wanted more rounds, then there would be a seperate charge for each additional round, to be paid at that time.

The norm (at least in my area) is to pay the entire amount when ordering from a stationary shop.

Are you talking about online or in a store? I’m not sure about online.

@mrsbruff2b: Yes, when placing our order with thestationary store we signed an agreement stating that we agreed to the design and authorized them to proceed with the next step, proofs. The agreement also set forth the number of proof rounds we were alotted, timeframes for production once we were done with proofs, etc.
