I have $7 if that makes you feel any better. lol. It sucks going pay check to pay check. Most of the time we do okay, but unexpected things happen. It will get better, though!

I know what you mean!  I’m a college senior and I’ve worked 2 jobs through college just to pay the bills and live paycheck to paycheck.  I just got my first credit card in April to help out in between the paychecks too.  It’s really tough, but somehow it’s worked.

Keep your head up, I know you’ll get through it!

Yes. We do, there’s no way around it until after we finish all our degrees. It sucks and I make sure that I have a credit card that has a high enough balance in case an emergency happens.

It also doesn’t help that we have two more months with these roommates. They ended up breaking up, and now my one roommate thinks it’s okay to demand money from us. Ugh.

ooooohooooo oooooh me me meeeee!

yup – this would be us. we get paid (after taxes) between the two of us right now about $3,000 / month and yet between bills and credit card debt and the wedding…yeah – we literally have $10 to our name once bills are paid every week.

i’m getting a HUGE raise that i was SUPPOSED to get 2 months ago – but it’s not hitting me now til the day after (not joking, literally 2 days after) the wedding.

so until then – yeah – paycheck to freakin’ paycheck. both he and i get paid this week – and yet – no joke, we will have $50 for the week once bills are paid / groceries are bought – and even groceries have to be bare minimals this week.

Yep that’s us. I actually just went to the bank yesterday and made them set my debit card to decline when I don’t have the money because I can’t afford the overdraft fees.

Right now we do for sure, though we have a lot more money in our account than you at the moment (we have rent and a mortgage to pay at the end of the month which takes a lot of cash).  We use our credit cards for every day expenses so we don’t have the money coming out of our account but we really watch how much we charge on the card so we can pay it off when it’s due.

We’re there. Mostly because of this weather. Normally we’re making enough. Inkpad is a contractor and business is slow when it rains. I understand people don’t want windows put in when its raining, for the time being with all the new lead paint laws that is all people want. I’m an independant photographer so business comes when business comes. It’s not easy starting a new business, well I’m a year in, with 2 really big named companies within 20 miles of where we are located.

Thankfully we are a cash only family. We have one credit card for emergencies only. Unfortunatly it has a small balance on it, that I will pay off tomorrow.

Living paycheck to paycheck for the first few years together really helped. We don’t fight over money. Somehow the bills will get paid and we will make it through. We have plenty of stuff around our house to keep us busy. We have a stock pile of games to play along with 2 game systems. A great backyard and tons of friends that come over.

I feel so much better reading this.  We satthe other night trying to figure out how to save something and realized it’s just not a possibility right now. My maid of honor just got a new job and she’s making $30K more than I am and I feel like a total loser when she’s eating $200 dinners and I’m eating mac and cheese.

Holy Moly, are we ever!  We are in school, and I have definitely had to feed my dog rice and tuna before.  When we moved here- we had nothing.  A car, two dogs, and $300 for gas from a garage sale.  Things are better now, but I know how you feel!  And, @WindyCityBride- my friend is a surgeon, and I always feel like the poor kid when she wants to do expensive things!

@rosiegirl….

kinda off topic, but just be careful because more and more banks are using check 21 (like mine!) and the check is automatically scanned and taken from the account that same day.

@alishadhs4: Yeah, I don’t like how they sped up payments with Check 21 but wait times on deposits can be a week!

!!!!! I know!  My bank tried to make me wait 11 days until my funds were released on a deposit- for NO reason- and yet, Check 21 is super fast in withdrawing 🙁

@cbee: One reason why we try to have everything as direct deposit, instant access!
