I think David’s Bridal does lay-away, but I was curious about paying for a dress. Do most shops require you to pay the entire amount when you order? Or is it like 50% down and then remainder when dress comes in?

My shop required 50% down when they ordered and I paid the rest when I picked it up.

I had to pay in full that day.

I believe we had to pay either 40 or 50% down and it had to be paid in full before it left the store.

50% down, remainder paid at pickup. 🙂

I did layaway. I paid $200 a month, once I get the 50% mark, they ordered my dress, and I continued to pay $200/month until it was paid off. They also had the option of stopping to pay at 50%, and paying the rest when you pick up the dress.

Mine was 50% down, the rest when I picked it up

Mine was also 50% down and the rest had to be paid by the time the dress comes in.

I paid 50% down and then payments. I ended up paying it off early though.

I think the store I went to was 50% down and then full payment no later than 30 days after they receive it.

Mine was 50% down but if you paid for the whole thing they would pay the sales tax.

I had to put 50% down and the remainder is due 15 days after the arrival of the dress or at first fitting, which ever comes first.

For my gown I had to pay 50% at Alfred Angelo for them to order it, but for my BM’s dresses, they had to pay the full amount up front.

At the bridal shop I went to you had the option of paying a deposit or paying in full. If you paid in full, you got a reduced price on the dress, so I just paid in full.
