@Callie_Starr:  I’ve heard of paying for the dress or the hair as a gift. The only way I’d consider it a gift is if it’s not mandatory or if you know they already plan on having it done. I made an appt to do my hair with my bff for her wedding and I thought maybe she’d get me a gift card to the salon. She ended up getting me a much better gift anyway but I would have liked that.

I got my girls personalized Visa gift cards from giftcards.com. If they want, they can put it towards hair, dresses, etc. (I gave it to them before dress shopping).

@mrsztobee:  my bff gave me a coach bag, probably from the outlets. Much better gift than makeup! I also still frequently wear the earrings she got me. It’s personal preference I guess.

Are you requiring makeup for the girls? If it’s required, I think you should pay, as that’s a pretty hefty fee. I’m not sure that it can technically be considered part of their gift.

Whether you’re still able to afford anything as a gift from there is up to you. If nothing else, the BMs will appreciate a thoughtful thank-you note from you, and maybe some nice prints of you guys together from the wedding. 🙂

@Callie_Starr:  $150/pp for make up is very normal.

BUT, paying for their make up is NOT a gift, ESPECIALLY if you are requiring it for the Bridal Party.
