- Wedding: August 2012
We got engaged right after his younger sister got engaged. She said she was picking a date in June or early July. So, we finalized our date in August. She just told me her wedding is exactly 3 weeks before ours. It’s stressing me out because we have a lot of out of town guests and I guess I was hoping it would be more spread out.
Then she said her older sister wanted us to have a combined reception, and I should have my wedding on Friday and she would have hers on Saturday. Then everyone comes to the reception on Saturday. The older sister said she didn’t know if she could make both weddings. I was sooo outraged and told her Nooooo thank you. I’m obviously getting the short end of the stick and I don’t want to share my day with someone else or have to try to cordinate with another bride.
Now, my fiance decided we ask his older sister’s daughters to be in the wedding. Then right at the end of the phone conversation, he said he would pay for all the dresses! And he wasn’t clear if she knew that we didn’t ask for her youngest child because she is so young. So, if she thinks that the baby will be in it, then there’s four flower girl dresses we’ll be paying for. I think that he only did it was to make sure she would come to the wedding (she lives over 5 hrs away)
Then he asked a friend to come to his bachelor party. His friend stressed that he didn’t have money to go to Vegas, so my fiance offered to pay for him.
I explained to my fiance how if we keep paying for our guests, we’re not going to have money for our wedding. He said he was just so excited.
That felt so good to get that off my chest. haha
