That’s weird! I usually just buy, but the one time I did sell, I think it was in there that day, at least within 24 hours. Maybe the buyer did not have the money and the transaction failed?

It should be pretty instantaneous. I think mine is maybe an hour or so max?

@Carolyn72: Are you talking about transferring money to your bank account from your paypal account?  Or receiving the money in your paypal account when somebody sends you money?

When you transfer money from you paypal account to your bank account it takes about 3 days to show up in your bank account.  When you receive money from someone paying to your paypal account, it usually shows up immediately after the person sends it.

HTH!

Also – it should show a pending charge from someone in your PayPal, if it hasn’t gone through.

If they paid by e-check, then it takes so many days for it to clear. If you are a new seller, PayPal sometimes holds the funds for several days while you ship the item.

Whenever I sell something, I always check PayPal to verify the money went through (and not a scam email). I’ve seen enough scam emails to know to check Paypal directly.

Are you a new seller? I know when I was selling on ebay, they put restrictions on new sellers and will hold the money, until the buyer receives the item(s) and leaves feedback; at least that is the way I read that rule.

If you sold something on your own, the money should be there right away, unless they paid by echeck. In that case, you should have received an email from PayPal advising you when the check would probably clear.

Another thing that may be happening is that some payments have to be approved by you. Go into your PayPal account and check to see if there is a drop down box that indicates whether you need to approve the payment or not.

And, the payment could possibly not be valid, so it may not have come through.

Whatever you do, don’t send out what you sold, until you have a cleared payment.

You can also call PayPal to see if they can find out what is going on on their end. The phone number is 402-935-2050. They are open 4 am to 10 pm, M-F and 6 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday. I think the hours are Pacific Time.

@Carolyn72: The money will stay in your PayPal account, unless you transfer it to your bank. It takes up to 3 business days for the money to be transferred to your bank. I suggest that if you don’t already have one to get a debit card from PayPal, so you will have more access to your money. If you want to use your PayPal account right now to make a purchase online, you should have the money available for you to do that, since it shows completed. Go into your summary to see what is available and since you are selling on ebay, don’t forget about the fees that you will have to pay on your sale.

Here is a link on facebook that is just about working eBay. I suggest you check it out and join up, if you are on facebook. I know the majority of the sellers on this link and they are very nice. I don’t sell on ebay anymore because I don’t like their politics and ever changing rules, but I am a member of this group and they are very knowledgeable.

yep, it stays with paypal until you transfer it yourself. There are limits of how much you can transfer in a given period so they let people chose for themselves when and how much.

It take 3-4 business days for money to go from Paypal into your bank account. (it is almost instant for it to appear in your paypal account, however).

If you’re a new seller, the money won’t show up as yours until you have sent the item out.  You need to add the delivery confirmation number to the paypal payment.  Once the item has been shipped, the funds should be released.  I think there are some exceptions to this (if it was a really expensive item), but I could be wrong.  Now that I think about it, it may be that you have to enter the delivery confirmation number and once the item shows as delivered, THEN the funds are released.
