I love love love my MAC! 🙂
I love love love my MAC! 🙂
Once you have a fiddle with it a MAC is much more user friendly, and if your Fiance has used them he can help you…
My mac sucked. The battery didn’t work so I had to get it replaced… twice. The hard drive crashed. The power cord stopped working. It was SO slow.
I have since gotten a Toshiba with Windows 7 and LOVE it. It’s 1000 times better.
MAC FOR SURE. i would never, ever buy a pc ever again. they’re infinitely easier to use. the screen produces more vibrant colors and enables you to view pictures and watch movies with a much better quality. you won’t need one of those annoying intrusive anti-virus programs, and you can forget about pop-ups. i just find using windows frustrating.
ps: your name is guitar girl, so i’m assuming you’re into music. your mac will come standard with programs for recording and editting music, so that’s an added bonus!
pps: i’ve had my mac for over 4.5 years now. i’ve had to replace the battery, but being in college i used my computer consistently… several hours every single day. it was under applecare, so it was free though. other than that, i haven’t had any issues. it’s been a faithful companion.
Not a fan of Mac’s and have used both extensively. They just aren’t very user friendly for the tasks that I need a computer for.
PC for me! Are you in school or often send files, then say hello no to macs! Thats just a nightmare…
I have a nearly 7 year old Dell PC that lasted 4 years of college and now a Dell lappy thats 1… no problems w/ either really (obviously the PC is slow). I don’t need to spend the extra $ nor need any of the fuss that Macs boast!
i’m not trying to be argumentative, i’m just telling you my experience… i’m a student who sends files almost daily and my mac has made everything i do extremely simple. my family actually used dells for a long time, because my dad got killer deals on them through his business. i remember our first dell laptop back in the day.. that thing weighed like 20lbs! it was a beast! but anyway, we’ve always had problems with our dells. they never last longer than 2 years. my parents finally learned their lesson, and my dad bought my mom and i pretty nice/expensive hp’s. i got rid of mine within the first year, because i just couldn’t handle windows any longer. that’s when i got my mac. my mom still uses her hp, but she complains about it every day. every time she’s on her computer all i can hear is, “UGH! i want a mac!”
I’ve used both and I loooooooooooooove my Mac. Wouldn’t ever buy anything else!!!!
I would say Mac 100%! I have a pc, but I use Macs at school for my design classes and would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money. I think PCs are okay, but I don’t think they last as long as Macs so you make up the money in the long run. Macs perform sooo much better! Also with PCs I think you have to do more research to find a good one. I don’t really trust any PCs besides Dell (I’ve had two, and my current one is 6 years old and still kickin’!)
Adore my mac!
I had been one of those Lust-after-the-Mac-but-use-a-pc-because-I-thought-I-couldn’t-afford-it girls for years (since the first mac user I dated), but when my $1400 pc crapped out 3 months out of it’s 1 year warranty and was going to cost hundreds of dollars to fix and no one could figure out what was wrong with it, I let J go ahead and order me a MacBook. I was shocked to realize it was actually a lot cheaper than getting a new PC of the quality I needed for the work that I do. We bought refurbished and I’ve been exceedingly pleased with it since then. I travel a lot (well, I work and live abroad), and Mac is very, very, very international friendly in a way that I doubt Microsoft will ever catch up to (their non-romanized language input system alone is worth switching over for, IMO).
I’d say it took me about a week to 100% adjust to using a mac, and now that I go back and forth between my mac and my bff’s pc, I’m totally ‘bilingual’ in the two and couldn’t be happier.
I have had both through the years – laptop (lasted one year) and desktop (lasted 2 years) PCs through college, got my first MAC PowerBook senior year and the rest really is history – and the MAC has never let me down. At work, I use a P.C. and I get so frustrated with all the virus definitions that need to be run, and the random freezes and shut downs.
Plus now, with my iPhone, it’s happy and magical – DH both have iPhones, I have a MacBook and he has a MacBook Pro, plus we use a Mac MINI for our TV.
If you’re not super comfortable with technology in general, definitely consider a Mac – especially if you do a lot of visual layout work or audio/video/photo stuff.
Otherwise, I’d get a PC for sure.
I’d love a Mac Pro but man, they’re like 3x more expensive than a PC! So i’ve always been one to order through Dell.
