Hey everyone. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 15 years ago with no cysts. I have always had the symptoms of excess hair/acne/obesity, but never tried to get pregnant. I started having some pain in the pelvic area and got a ultrasound. the first one in 15 years. SO my results
-collapsing cyst on right ovary
-a hyperchoic nodule with some attenuation and no colour flow on left ovary. They say they suspect it’s a collapsed cyst, however hemmorage as well as a small fatty area cannot definately be excluded. There is a trace amount of free fluid in the posterior cul-de-sac.
Does anyone know what this all means? Sorry for the medical lingo!
Also, they noticed I had increased postvoid residual which means after I relieved my bladder after the ultrasound, it was still too full, so now they want to look into that.
They want me to get another follow up U/S in 4 weeks for the above 2 issues.
I’ve always thought because i didn’t have cysts that maybe I didn’t have PCOS. Do these cysts mean I definately have it?
Thanks in advance!
