Newbee

Hi Bees, I was hoping I might join you on this super-supportive board. I’m a fellow PCOS-er and I’ve been following you but haven’t jumped in until now. Reading this board has helped me stay positive and I’m so grateful for that. It was only a matter of time before I had to say hi and tell you I’m hoping so hard for you all.

AFM, I was dx aged 19 (now 34) and put on the BCP. I came off two years ago and DH and I have been ttc for 7 months. I knew it wouldn’t be easy for me to get ku as my cycle length varies between 35 and 60 days and I have raised testosterone and prolactin. I also have a low BMI (18.4) and struggle to put weight on (and that’s despite eating large portions and snacking regularly). If anyone else has the same issue with a low BMI I’d love to chat about it.

Sorry for the long post but just wanted to introduce myself fully as I’m hoping to hang out with you ladies for a bit – although FX for all of us that our stay here won’t bee to long.

I’m a newbee to this thread as well (invited by MsBelka after this post: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/just-diagnosed-with-pcos-sad-and-scared/#axzz37l3fEjdW)  Not new to the bee in general, just PCOS

Now that I’ve been talked off the ledge- for those of you who were diagnosed later in life, did this change your TTC timeline? As mentioned in my other thread, my DH and I were planning to TTC early next year but now I’m scared that it’ll take forever.  Did you start trying earlier when you found out you had PCOS?

I just ordered a jumbo pack of OPK strips from amazon (learning the lingo) and will start using those when they arrive to see if I can figure out what is going on.  I have a feeling I’m going to be a regular ITT

pcosbee:  welcome ladies! Sorry you’re here though. I hope we can be a source of comfort and helpful advice to both of you. FX this is a short journey for both of you. I can’t really answer your questions as I’m on the other end on the bmi chart, being a bit over my “normal” range and having problems losing…I also didn’t find out about my PCOS until after we started TTC. I’m sure there are lots of bees on this board in the same situation as one of you though. Good luck ladies!

No update for me really…in fact I dipped a little today. My theory is that my bedroom is just much cooler this month….that’s a thing, right? :/

Hi Bees,

I just wanted to give an update in here as well. Last night I got a BFP! This thread has helped so much. While I may not have posted much, I was here every day reading and getting great advice and support from all of you. I realize how fortunate I am to have been diagnoised just a few months ago with PCOS and to get a BFP so soon. Good luck everyone!

MsBelka31:  Thank you!

I took a blood test yesterday to confirm. I’m still waiting on the results. My hospital has an online portal where you can review your results. I may break it with all of the refreshing I’ve been doing.

It’s mine and Mr Twister’s first wedding anniversary today. I don’t feel terribly upset that I’m not pregnant yet because I know I have an amazing man that will support me no matter what life throws our way. I hope you ladies are having as good a day as I am so far. Xoxo
