k8marx:  It’s gorgeous! I ADORE horizontal step cuts and I’ve been looking at something similar to this that is diamond, but without the halo at a local jewelry store in my area.

I just looked at the EidelPrecious storefront on Etsy and I don’t see anything like it…. was this a custom design?

k8marx:  Oh so it was just a single ring, rather than something they do on an ongoing basis. Wow, that makes your ring all the more special!

I am still swooning over it. Emerald cuts are so classic. And yours is so long that it packs a lot of oomph, almost like a big baguette! It is so much prettier set horizontally than vertically. Very fresh and modern yet it will stand the test of time.

Your ring is going to be sooo extra gorgeous stacked with wedding and anniversary bands as the years go on.

Oh and in answer to your original question, I think the ring is very bridal looking. I do not think cocktail ring at all when I look at it.

If I didn’t already have my e-ring, I would be seriously thinking about getting one like yours. Congrats again!

I think it’s so unique, feminine, and pretty!  Ignore the negativity.  When I was younger, I was engaged with a blue zircon, and everyone would scrunch their faces and ask if it was really an engagement ring.  It was painful.  just be prepared.  I think if you love it, that’s what matters!

k8marx: that is gorgeous!! Honestly, if someone has a ring in that finger, I just assume it’s an engagement ring. Your ring is definitely classy enough that I doubt anyone will question it.
