thanks so much for your input! Yes, you’re right. I should have clarified, the 1.2 would be the absolute maximum for the solitaire. I would be going much smaller (maybe 0.5-7) for a halo set pear!
Thank you! It’s incredible how divided people are on the pear solitaire thing but I totally agree! I just love them both 😭
love your ring. What a stunner! I didn’t realise the stone would look so big! Wow.
that is a beautiful setting. My idea was to combine bezel and halo but I’m now tempted by your gorgeous setting. It actually really does define the stone. Do you find the sparkle is as intense?
amazing. Is that yellow gold? Interesting that you find it comfortable. I maybe have only ever had badly made pavés which have annoyed my other fingers. Will have to try one on I think! 😍
this seems to combine best of both worlds! You have the plain shank which is appealing. I like what you’ve done with your band too, it’s so unusual but feminine.

This is my 1.0ct pear solitaire. My pave goes 3/4 around and I don’t find it irritating at all! Good luck finding your perfect ring!

I have a halo and I love it. My finger size is a 4.75, and the carat of the center stone is .75 but the total carats of the ring is a little over 1.0. I love my ring and find the side stones to be very comfortable. I remember when I first got it, it rubbed for the first day or two which worried me but after that it was comfortable and I hardly notice it! It’s also very durable because I have NOT been gentle with my hands and have not lost a stone yet 🙂

gorgeous setting! I’ll have one of these, thanks 😏

I love halos so of course I am biased. However, my thin band has completely bent out of round so I’m really leery of thin pave bands now. My ring is from Costco and believe it or not, I can return it so I think that’s what I’m going to do and get a plain shank halo elsewhere as they don’t sell any.
Have you considered a plain shank halo?

I agree that the tapered baguettes are another good alternative to the pear style! It’s simple and low maintanence but adds some extra sparkle when you’re moving your hand around 🙂 No matter what you choose I’m sure it’ll be beautiful!

Since you are unsure I recommend the solitaire.

I’m biased, I love pears with a halo!

I am a fan of both halo and solitaire pears. Mine is a .80 pear with stacked bands.

I have had my ring for over 2 years. I love solitaire ring, and it is very comfortable to wear.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate all your input. I loved each and every one of your rings though, and they’ve only made me more confused! Worth it though, to see such stunning sparklers.
I’ll try and remember to update you all with whatever I go for. I will be ordering it in the next month! xxxxxx

I have a 0.5ct pear in a 0.33 halo/pave band so I’m massively biased here. Our jewellers advised we have the ring cleaned and “serviced” annually so that he could check over the prongs in the band to prevent any loss of diamonds. So far so good though!
I think a solitaire setting is so timeless and elegant but I personally couldn’t resist the sparkle of my halo.
Have you tried all 3 styles on? You might have a gut feeling when you see it on your own hand.
hope you find your dream ring, bee!
