@Chrissy6402:  Welcome to the Bee!  I wouldn’t wear pear myself, but here are some looks I like.  Good luck in your search.

Hi @Chrissy6402: first and foremost as this is your DEBUT Post… a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”

Pears are pretty… but they aren’t for everyone.  You either like the more exotic cuts or you don’t I find.

My Girlfriend has a Pear (1 Carat) that she received for a Milestone Anniversary, she wears it as a RHRing.  It gets comments wherever she goes.  Hard to miss.

You are more likely to be able to find the exotic cuts with small family run Jewellers than you are with the chain stores… as chains tend to carry whatever is the most trendy at any one time (and lots of it)

I also happen to like the Quality & Value I find at family run Jewellers more than I do chain stores.

And you’ll be able to tell them what you are looking for and chances are they’ll be able to show you several stones (either having them on hand, or getting them in for you)

I personally would NEVER buy a “significant / feature” Diamond without seeing it in person first

As you’ll want to SEE the quality of the CUT, COLOUR, CLARITY etc.  With Exotics as someone else mentioned “bowties” can be an issue (part of the reason I shyed away from Marquise Cuts)

Personally, I also am concerned with the other long list of Cs as well…

As ceebree: has shown with the pics above, there are more modern settings for Pears now… featuring the “trendy” elements of Halos and such… so if you do your homework, you’ll find there are lots of possibilities.

Good luck in your search,

Here’s Mine! I love pears even though they aren’t a favorite of many, so they are kind of hard to find in stores.

@Chrissy6402:  welcome Chrissy!

I think pears are lovely too! Here is an example of a pear–it’s not a diamond but the simulant-moissanite (more expensive then cz but much stronger and willl last!)  Smile
