i’m an inverted pear (almost horu glass but my butt is not big enough) so dresses that work for pear shapes don’t work for me.  when i went shopping, a friend (who is tiny up top and carries her weight down on her lower half) picked out a lot of a-lines for me.  i told her they didn’t work for my body.  she finally saw what i meant.  but pear shapes usually look great in strapless a-lines or ball gowns (if you have the height).

A-line or drop waist dresses definately flatter the pear shape. This is the one I ended up with. I would recommend staying away from ballgowns as (for me) they really accent the bottom where I am most self conscious.

I am about 1-2 sizes smaller on top than bottom, and A-line definitly looked the best on me. This is what I ended up getting (Mon Cheri Hope 111225). Good luck!
