My hair trial is on Weds so I need to get a move on and choose what I want in my hair! I am wearing a simple pearl drop necklace and earrings with yellow gold and a fingertip length veil with the attached dress.
My hair is either going to be curled and half up/half down or curled & very loosely up.
I either want to wear a pearl comb like the attached picture, or a ivory hair flower in my hair. I will be wearing the veil at the same time. I am stuck what to go for though. My dress is fairly floaty and it is a summer wedding, just wondering what you reckon would work best with dress & jewellery?
Thanks ladies! (Sorry, I don’t know how to make the pictures smaller!)

I’m kind of partial to a flower, but I think that’s because I’m wearing one, too. 🙂
That said, I think either option is gorgeous and would look GREAT with your dress! Maybe the question is, what overall feel are you going for?
When I was torn between a sparkly comb and a flower, I felt that a sparkly comb is a little more elegant and a flower is a little more romantic, and ultimately I leaned toward the romantic.
However, I should note that I don’t plan to wear my veil and flower at the same time. I’m going to switch from veil to flower between the ceremony and reception. So perhaps that’s a consideration for the comb; not sure which is easier to wear with a veil.

The flower looks so soft and matches the natural beauty of the dress =)

I can’t remember, are you having a beach wedding? If you are, I say flower, if you’re not, I personally love that comb so much!

I love that flower! I think it would look perfect with your dress.

I’m all about the flower. Since your jewelry is yellow gold, I think the silvertones in the comb won’t go as well. But no issues with the flower! 🙂

I love the first one with the pearl. It makes your hair interesting enough without taking away from the softness of your dress

Ladies, you make these decisions so much easier with opinions and questions – thank you! The Bee is easily my favourite wedding place because of all of you, you make things really clear in my head!
Thanks for your help!
@lox: I just love, love, love the hair comb but as you say, it is very silvery and my jewellery is yellow gold. I probably shouldn’t have gone with yellow gold with my dress anyway to be honest but my engagement ring & wedding ring is yellow gold as I just love it so I think you are right about not mixing the two – good catch, thank you 🙂
@Oneeleven: We are getting married in an old Scottish church and our reception is in a hotel – but the church & hotel all sit on the edge of a Scottish loch (lake) so photos, drinks reception and cake cutting are all on the beach. H2B is in the military so is wearing uniform, but apart from that it is not very formal and most of the look I have gone for is fairly floaty. I think the hair flower works better as you say, thanks 🙂
@Gemstone: Great question about what overall feel – you have just made up my mind on that one! I wanted elegant at first, then fell in love with a floaty dress, romantic and soft is the main plan so I think the hair comb would be too much. Flower is a better plan.
I love the hair comb though I have bought it too, I may just wear it to our rehearsal dinner – if you can’t overdress as a bride when can you 🙂
Thanks ladies, now just to decide if hair is up or down!
