Beautiful rings! I do not wear pearl rings because I am too active with things that could damage them (craft supplies, dry erase markers, etc.), but I adore pearls and wear pearl strands often.

I have two, I adore them.

The yellow gold one was my mum’s, but she didn’t wear it much so she gave it to me. The bigger one was given to me by my fiancé (then boyfriend) for my birthday several years ago. It is far more beautiful in real life, and is in desperate need of a clean.

I don’t wear them much anymore, simply because I have a young dog and a puppy, and spend most of my time cleaning and gardening. I don’t want them to get ruined.

Please excuse poor picture quality.

I bought one recently but it’s a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be so I never wear it

My mother gave me this pearl/diamond ring. It was a gift to my grandmother from her brother while he was away in the Vietnam war. My grandmother gave it to my mom to remember her uncle by as he was killed when she was young. It’s very beautiful and I do wear it on occasion.

(Had to repost! I got a little more info on the backstory)

plpinkinsa2001 :  Ooh, that’s too bad you rarely wear it; it’s truly a beauty!

I received a huge double pearl, coral and gold ring studded with what I assume are diamonds from an elderly lady whom I helped out when her only son passed away too young. It belonged to her also deceased younger sister (the poor lady! It makes me so sad to consider what she’s been through) and she wanted me to have it because she thinks it fits a young woman better. It’s way too big to be my style, but I wear it when I see her and constanly worry that one of the pearls will fall off.

Does anyone know how pearls are suspended in rings? They don’t have prongs; my fianće thinks glue, which seems weird to me.

Here is my massive pearl ring. It is a 14mm freshwater pearl, but I have to say the orient and lustre is so similar to my South Sea pearls if it wasn’t button shaped I would have thought it to be South Sea 🙂
