I went to a wedding ceremony at Pebble Beach/Brooklyn Bridge park last summer. The couple did not have a sound system, they spoke maybe a little louder than normal, and everyone heard them just fine. But they did not linger, they exchanged vows and the nessesary words and then everything else was at the reception at Bubby’s

I’m also getting married in Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 1) and am wondering the same thing. I was thinking of using a small, unobstrusive mic and speaker system but am nervous because of the rule. bkpinkbride, were you able to get permission or are you just gonna do it.  I wonder how bad the risk is?

I’m getting married at the pebble beach and we have gone down there a few times to try and check out weddings to see what others are doing with this new policy of no sound. We haven’t seen too much yet but we spoke to a few different park cops on different weekends and they didn’t seem like they were out to shut any weddings down. I saw some people getting married on the grass near pier 1 — kinda past the carousel– and they had a musician sitting and playing on the grass with a music stand. They said that you can’t have any chairs any other objects on the grass but he didn’t really care. I think they are somewhat lax but I wouldn’t bring a huge sound system out. We are talking about maybe trying to hook up some fm transmitters or very small speakers bc it does get very loud. I really don’t get why they raised the fee AND took out the ability for a sound system!!

How did your guys ceremony’s work out for pebble beach? I am also considering it and concerned about doing it by myself. I know when Galapagos helps you they put out wood on top of the pebbles so you can walk and stand. Any idea if you can do that on your own? They also said they do mics but i also n oticed that the website says you can’t have any of that. Also can someone clarify where the other spaces are? Galapagos showed us the area by the carousel but it didn’t seem like it was on the list for permits?
