Hello!
Thanks to everyone’s help yesterday, I think I’ve narrowed down want I want in a ring to a Padparadscha/Peach Sapphire in either a three stone or solitaire rose gold setting with a peekaboo diamond.
If you have/know someone who has a peekaboo/surprise gemstone, I’d love to see pictures and know where you got it! What did you do for a wedding band to not hide the peekaboo?
Thank you!

I have one on each side of my engagement ring. And I have to say I love them. The diamonds were the original side stones in my first engagement ring. They .25 points each and because of that my ring sits up very high to accommodate them in the setting. Took a few days to get used to the high setting but really love it now.
A local jeweler designed it using photos I had saved for several years as inspiration and he also redid my wedding band at the time to match. One thing that he did to compensate for wear/rubbing between the wedding ring and engagment ring was build the bezel that holds the surprise diamonds out just a bit. There is no wear on the bezel at this point (I’ve been wearing this set almost a year) and only very minimal wear on my wedding band. Also by having a surprise stone on each side even if one is hidden the other can been seen.

I’m waiting in mine in the mail but I plan to wear my Ering close to my hand and the wedding band on the outside so I’ll see the surprise diamonds.

You both have such lovely rings, thank you for the pictures!
NEAM2014 : Do you mind if I ask where you got your ring? I’m looking for a setting very similar to that!

Mine is being made right now so I only have the CAD render. I love the surprise diamonds!

I have a tiny little peekaboo diamond either side of my ring.
My wedding band does cover one of the diamonds. It doesn’t bother me though because the one on the other side isn’t covered. I never intend to wear any other rings with my set so there will always be one showing.
Here’s my set from the side

Oh and I’m in the UK but my engagement ring is from Alba Rose, band is from Clogau. Probably not much help if you’re in the US though sorry!

KellyB262 : oh my goodness, that ring is so beautiful I actually gasped when I saw it! What gemstone is the center stone?

It’s a Swiss blue topaz. Topaz is my favourite. It’s so much more beautiful in real life. It sparkles beautifully. It looks different shades of blue in different lighting. I adore it. (Matching stones in my wedding band too).

I have a hidden gemstone on the inside of my wedding band. It’s a small chip of DH’s birthstone (Amethyst)… I decided to go this route because my band was too narrow to engrave. I’m at work now, but I’ll try to update later with a picture.
