There is another girl on this site that is also planning her wedding there for later in 2011.

That is a great space and TONS you can do for decorating and food.  Especially because the venue has an open kitchen, you can do a big spread of tropical food.  Food as Decor is always a win win!

At the top left of this page there is a search bar.  Type in Pelican Beach Clubhouse and you should get a few hits.  My photographer Cathy Heinz has a few weddings she has shot there too.

They are pretty specific about what you can use to hang up on the walls – be careful about that. Also, there can’t be any outside lights between Mar 1 and Oct 31 for Turtle season. Very pretty venue, though.

I’m the Bee that Caszos is speaking of — we are having our wedding at PBCH next year, too.  I have lots of indoor photos (undecorated) from our walk throughs.  I know a lot about what they require, the Dos and Dont’s of the venue, etc., so if you have any questions, just PM me or let me know.  I’d be glad to help!

Also, I recommend selecting your date and booking soon — they fill up quickly!  You can call and reserve your date over the phone and then they allow you two weeks from the date of your reservation to pay in full.  If you choose a weekend date, you must rent the building for the full day and it will run you $318 + $100 security deposit.  Your deposit is returned to you 30 days after your event if everything is cleaned properly and left in original condition.  $318 is a steal for such an awesome little beach location!

@MadiLove918:

I am also doing my wedding at the Pelican Club Beachhouse in July of 2011. I was hoping to get some ideas for the ceremony and reception from other women doing their wedding there.

I have seen the ceremony done on the deck, on the beach, and inside. My biggest battle right now is where to have the ceremony. We are already married and it will be a very brief renewing of the vows. Any ideas?

Also, where are you putting your food, cake, and music?

It a really cute venue.

It works well with lot’s of wedding themes.

We’ll work with you to pre-plan a menu that fits with your theme and BUDGET.

I’m getting married at PBCH on June 12, 2011 and I wanted to get married on the beach but am worried about people standing during the ceremony and I dont want to rent chairs for such a quick ceremony.  Is anyone else having a problem with where they want to have the ceremony?

Hello ladies! We are getting married at PBCH as well. Our date is 9/10/11. Can’t wait! I have been browing the other posts and am getting some great ideas for decorating the clubhouse. Really looking forward to seeing pics and hearing everyone elses ideas. Are you getting married in the clubhouse, on the deck or on the beach? Why did you chose that specific location? Thanks for any input. 🙂

I am having a vow renewal at the clubhouse in May.  I want to do the ceremony on the beach, and I am considering ideas for making an aisle out of seashells, etc.  Options are limited for the beach as far as decor goes with sea turtle nesting, but, even on the chair thing, okay, 20 minutes.  People can stand.  It isn’t my first choice, but, it is what we can do, and I just can’t imagine not doing it on the beach if the weather permits…….  Even with no decor, no chairs, the beach front is something that is simply amazing alone.

Hi!  I just  got married there on Mar 26, 2011. Beautiful location, and yes, we (meaning me) did it all ourselves.  A friend of mine is a professional chef so I hired her to do the food.  I did a buffet. Unfortunately, due to the tides when we got married below on the beach, I had already booked it without  consulting a tidal chart.  I had originally wanted to do a brunch, but we actually got married at 5pm instead of the switched time of 4pm (groom ran late and had to shower after putting up my bamboo arbor.  He built it for me a year prior.)  I made all of my  table tops, did the pintucked table runners, made the napkin rings, the out of town bags, bought the china and flatware, the champagne foutain, etc. It was a lot of work but worth every bit of it.  There are very few photos of me smiling though. I lost my voice and was sick in bed 4 days prior and then my  parents came into town. Unfortunately, I was unaware of their declining health. Hence the stress.  However, I did have people coming in all morning long while we were setting up asking us who we used to put it all together. That kind of helped balance out my mood!  I think I finally had a proud moment!  I’ll post photos later for you all to see!  Please feel free to ask questions. I have to dash to work! P. S. My photo loved it! And they are all still calling me about the wedding. We took them all on a river cruise the next morning.
