We considered this venue and also thought it was beautiful. The downsides were:

a) staff was non-responsive (i.e. did not pick up phone or respond to emails…it took weeks to get the menu options and prices!)

b) Location not ideal (for us anyway, because we wanted something more central)

c) The value proposition wasn’t as good as what we found at Glen Foerd, which is the venue we ultimately went with. If you check it out, you’ll see that it’s a similar type of venue (mansion on Delaware river), but in my opinion at least, what you get for your money is better.

I am having my ceremony and reception here in July 2011. We haven’t had one problem yet! Mary is fantastic has worked with us to get what we want. We are attending the open house that they are having this weekend to taste the food.I also thought it was beautiful.

We booked a hotel on street road in bensalem its the Holiday Inn. They have  a shuttle for an extra fee but it is perfect for what we need.

I’m having my reception/ceremony at Belle Voir in June (the location next door to Pen Ryn) – but a friend of mine was married at the mansion last August. They are incredibly flexible and easy to work with and Mary and Patty are the sweetest ladies. I would highly recommend you check it out!

PS. – Belle Voir may not look as fancy outside, but you should check it out anyways – the reception site has an INCREDIBLE view of the river 🙂
