Does anyone else get pennies from Heaven? I always thought it was neat reading other people’s stories, but now, I get them myself from time to time. The most recent one came yesterday….
My brother killed himself in 2007 after a long battle with depression. Yesterday was his birthday, so of course, I was a bit emotional, (well, more emotional than usual, since I am an emotional person!). I would not have gone to school at all, because I really wasn’t in the mood, but at our school you get a discount at the end of your program if you have had perfect attendance, and I haven’t missed a day yet.
I am in the massage therapy program, and since it’s a new school, there are only a few of us at the stage of the program I’m at, and we are very close, (we consider ourselves a family, which is awesome!). They all know about my brother, so they were very understanding and supportive when I started crying in our first class. During our second class, one person was to work and one was to receieve, and then we would switch next week. I REALLY did NOT want to work for obvious reasons (in three quarters of this program this is the first day I can recall not wanting to work on someone). Unfortunately, we drew names and I ended up on the working side. Blah. Anway, I was feeling particularly miserable for myself as I went back to the linen area to get supplies for the session, and on the floor was a penny, just when I needed it most. Of course, that only made me cry again. LOL! But it also made me feel bit better and not QUITE so upset about working.
Anyone else have a pennies from heaven story to share???

I’ve never heard of this… but is a nice sentiment… I might have to keep my eyes open for pennies 🙂

That’s a really sweet story. I have heard of this before, but I don’t think I’ve ever really paid attention to it. I definitely will now ;] I’m so sorry that you lost your brother. Big hugs…

Beautiful! I, too, receive penny’s (and sometimes nickels, dimes, and quarters!!) from Heaven. I lost my grandpa in Dec of 2008. He was in a farm accident and it was a very tragic time for our family. We still have our days where its really tough, but we get by. My grandpa was a VERY frugal (ok, tight) man. So we always get a good smile when we find a penny from Heaven. We use to tease that we wanted him to start tossing down quarters, nickels, and dimes. And then we all started finding them! So of course, we start joking about dollar bills and the like. Well about 2 weeks after we joked about this, my sister found a dollar on the ground. Just can’t help but smile. Really wish he was here right now… The hardest thing about planning our wedding is knowing he won’t be there….

I didn’t find a penny; but I have a story I can share. My father has been in and out of my life since I was born. He had some issues that I won’t get in to here. When my brother and I were grown enough, we told him we could not really handle him coming in and out of our lives, expecting us to drop everything when he came around…and then him dissapearing again. He then grew distant from his sisters and his grandmother whom he was VERY close with (my Nana) and I hadn’t seen him for about 10 years. My Nana passed away last September and I saw him at the funeral. I found out that he lives within a 5 minute drive of my house, and I know he takes the bus to and from work. I’ve lived in my current place for a year and a half and have never ran into him.
Last Wednesday would have been my Nana’s 99th Birthday. It was rainy out and I was on my way home from work. I was driving down a road that I do most days and saw my father walking home in the rain…so I picked him up. It ended up being about a 5 minute ride to his house, and the chatting was a little awkward, but I couldn’t but help think that my Nana was looking down and helped to make that happen. We decided that sometime soon we’re going to meet up for brunch at the diner down the street.
