@MyFavouriteChords:  According to the US Dept of Labor, “twelve workweeks of leave in a 12-month period for the birth of a child and to care for the newborn child within one year of birth.” It doesn’t say baby needs to be sick to take the time later. I would think that means if you need to take 2 weeks at the holidays to care for your baby because no other childcare is available, you are covered. I would print it out, go to HR and tell them that you plan to take your time 10 weeks at birth, 2 weeks later in the year.

Oh and maybe you could call/email the PA Dept of Labor to clarify for you and get it in writing from them?
