I think what you’re doing is all you can do, really. It’s nobody’s business what you’re wearing, as long as you love it.

Just tell them it’s perfect for you. Someone’s ring is always going to be bigger or smaller when compared to another’s. The point is that you love it. Don’t let people’s ignorance spoil the ring for you.

If somebody seriously makes a comment about your ring being too small, I would just look at them with a shocked expression and flat out say “Well, that’s rude.”

Hmm well a few thoughts came to mind reading this.

You said yourself you don’t like your ring and wanted something bigger so perhaps they are picking up on your overall feeling and energy? You are going to “pray for them” for judging you when you reacted the same way to the ring. Perhaps I am not reading this correctly?

I won’t disagree that their comments were rude and totally unacceptable and I think you responded the best you can. Hopefully you won’t have to deal with that on a regular basis as I am sure your ring is lovely.

i got alot of that from my friends. “only one stone? i want a bunch when i get engaged” “oh that’s not enough bling for my taste.”

my response?

“good thing it was bought with my taste in mind instead of yours then.”

@rosworms:  Haha! LOVE IT!

My smaller, <CRYSTAL CLEAR> white diamond and diamond band sparkle with the sunlight… I proudly smile knowing how much $ Fiance put into quality. 🙂 I KNOW this ring sparkles more than others who may turn their nose up at the size.  I hope you see the same thing: Sometimes the size doesn’t show the quality!  Be proud and shine it!

I think it is funny that they are having the same reaction to the ring as you did. However the key word is that it is “your” ring not theres. Tell them they are being rude. “Rude, much.” “How rude.” “That was rude” Call them out on it, they have no right to comment nastily on your ring. Most people who say those type of things continue to do so because they get away with it, I say call em out, smile in their face and go about your business.
