This is long, sorry bees.I work in a pharmacy and like any store out there we do get our craby, grumpy and just plan mean people in our store. Its like people seem to not understand how rude they are.
Most of our customers are awesome and nice people. They are even nice if we have made a mistake along the way. Hey we’re human, we do make mistakes. No ones perfect. But then there are people who think its is the end of the world if you make a mistake. They talk down to you, sometimes say rude and mean things,etc.
There was a lady who called and wanted to know if she has refills on her medication. SO I told her to please hold. Like I always do with every customer. I dont work the computers, so I always pass along the calls to the techs when needed. My coworker then took the call and we took care of everything. Just like normal.
Anyway, she came in and as I was checking her out she wasnt acting like a normal customer. I cant explain it. But after I was done checking her out at the register, she asked me for the number who is above us. Meaning the District Manager, she seemed mad at that moment. Im like what the heck. I treated her nicely, I had no idea what her problem was.
I told my Pharmacist what she wanted and he told her that he cannot give out the district managers number.(Obviously, no district manager wants strangers calling their office number and cell number to complain, etc). She then said to him, “So your refusing to give me the district managers number?” My Pharmacist said yes. Thats not how it works. We have a special number to deal with complaints and praises. He gave it to her and then the next thing she said really stuck out at me. She said that she has gotten the number for other district managers before.
So if she doesnt like something she complains wherever she goes?? How often does she call in a complaint about someone?? And plus it turns out that she works for the same company. Wow, she must not be liked at all around our whole company!!
Anyways, as she was walking away she said she wasnt coming here anymore and you could hear her loud beeping as she dialed that number. We were amazed at this woman.
As it turns out, she was mad at how I told her to hold on. She wanted everything to be explained to her. Y I am putting her on hold, y cant I help her, and then she was mad at my coworker on how supposedly rude she was. But my coworker just told her that she is the tech and the reason y I couldnt help her is because I dont have access to the computer. Thats it bees. So she called to complain about me and my coworker. She said we were incredibly rude.
Now I put people on hold by saying “Okay could you please hold?”, all the time and I have never gotten a complaint about it before. But this woman went ballistic on how I put her on hold. She said she was confused and didnt know if she was talking to the same person or another person.
From now Im thinking of explaining everything so I dont get complained on again. I had no idea someones needs to know everything. I mean I call different companies for various reasons, and Im put on hold and then I get a different person. Im not mad at that or anything. I guess Im just confused.
But at least she is better then this one guy who came in one time. Basically he kepted sampling a bottle of lotion(it wasnt a sampler) and I had to tell him to stop countless times before I finally had to take the bottle off the shelf.A couple times he looked at me and while I was watching him he took some!!!! You know what his excuses were?? He comes in here all the time,he’s just taking a dab,etc, etc. That guy had me so pissed!!
Ladies, if it is your fault or if its not your fault, how do you handle these people who like to rub their/your actions and words into your face? And if you do do a mistake, they make you feel like dirt and Im sorry but peoples words do effect other people. Its now 7:42 at night, hours later and Im still disoriented by it.
We have plenty of very nice customers, but just those few seem to spoil it all for me. It just seems like just a few come looking for a fight. Or is that just me?
Bees, do you have a customer horror story? Even if it was your fault or not??
