Has anyone else had people assume that the only reason that you are getting is married is because you are having a baby? I have had several people question me about this the best came from people that are younger than me and already married! I am 21 and about to graduate and move on to grad school, we are getting married because we love each other not any other reason. Not to mention we are waiting till we are married so there is no way that i can be pregnate! Sorry this is a vent but it drives me crazy!

Ah! Just ignore them! If you and your fiancee are sure of your decision, you don’t need to convince anyone else! I can understand, it can be annoying though. I think its great that you guys are so sure of yourselves and are tying the knot. If your confident nothing’s going to change between the two of you (which I’m sure you are) then why not!!!

People are always going to say something. I came across a thread where someone mentioned that mid to late twenties was too young to have your first baby, really?? So steer your own life, you are the captain!! Lol

Let them talk. You know the real reasons. They will find out in 9 months that their suspicions were wrong!

@Mr.Smithsgirl: Wow! Late 20’s too early to have a baby??? That’s crazy! I want to have 3 babies by the time I’m 30 :-)..hehe..over-ambitious I know, but 2 at the least because I want my kids to be close in age.

hehe…. yes but that’s when I tell them my fiance is pregnant and we’re getting married just to have rampant sex before he has the baby. 😛 But that’s just me…

@vetgirl: Ha, we’re having a short engagement. No one has asked me to my face (I have a pretty strong personality… I think they’re afraid) but my Maid/Matron of Honor has reported that several acquaintences of ours have asked her if I’m preggo.
I figure it doesn’t really matter because they’ll figure it out for themselves in a few months when there’s no bump. Don’t worry yourself about it.
My suggested response? A quizzical look and a sweetly asked “why would you ask that?” It puts them on the spot and calls them out without being rude.
