Aww. i was at a farmers market eyeing some baked goods and was given free cookies & cannoli’s…”for the baby”! It ended up being good luck because I went into labor that night 😉

@mixtaperomance:  that is so nice!  I have noticed people just being nice in general.  I’m 17w, so not huge yet, but people are always rushing to open doors for me, will hold doors for a while if I’m not that close, and give up seats for me.  It’s so nice!

Aw that is so sweet!

I’m 21w3d and so far nothing to report.  I’ve been showing for quite a few weeks and haven’t noticed any special treatment yet.  Maybe once I’m the size of a house!

The guy at my local Mr.Sub always gives me free (and several lol) cookies when I go in… “for the baby”… 😉 And I wonder where all the extra weight is coming from….

I noticed people holding doors for me most often.  Once at the grocery store, a nice older lady offered to help me load my stuff in the car.  I was like “Oh, no, I’ve got it thanks” but she helped me anyway.  It was very sweet, because she had to be about 70 and it was hot out.

I never have to worry about getting a seat on the metro anymore! It’s wonderful. I’ll miss that when the bump is gone…

I was 20 minutes over the expiry of my meter/pay parking. Stomach sunk as I saw that the the city parking guy was writing the ticket. He asked if it was my car and when I smiled/shrugged and said, yep — he tore up the ticket, smiled, and waved me out It was really lovely and unexpected.

My neighbours always offer to help me carry in the groceries. It’s a nice gesture but I usually only have like 2-3 bags and they’re not even heavy! lol

A man at the grocery store yesterday helped me with a case of water I was about to put in my cart. It was very sweet of him.

Other than that I haven’t really had people treat me too differently, but I have noticed that the bigger I get the more people smile at me when I’m out and about.

I had to pick up maternity jeans from the tailor this week, they were too long so I had them hemmed.  The tailor is next door to our grocery store so I had gotten a few items from there and had them with me when I picked up my pants.  The tailor asked if I needed help carrying the 2 bags to my car (I bought tortilla chips, salsa and lettuce, nothing heavy!).  I thought it was sweet of her to offer.

Man, this isn’t fair! I don’t get any special treatment!  People rush to walk in front of me (I’m not walking as fast these days), nobody offers to carry stuff for me. Actually, tonight I was at SAMs with my mom and I went off to get something. I was sort of in front of this middle aged couple and we were coming to a narrow point and they practically ran to get in front of me. Then I was walking back towards my mom and a lady (with kids) cut me off.

Doubt it’s because I’m pregnant since I’m just barely under 5weeks right now but yesterday (3 hours after testing) DH and I went out to eat, the restaurant was so busy a lot of people had too stand holding their plates (BBQ buffet) waiting for a table to open up. Everyone standing around us was being super nice ands one person gave up her table for us. I read pretty bloated yesterday and you could see it, maybe that’s why. Or maybe it’s because people have been asking if I was pregnant since my wedding.

none the less, in my already emotional state from the increasing hormones, I found it wonderful how nice everyone is. Hopefully the whole pregnancy is that nice 🙂

Nothing yet as I am only 11 weeks. I am hoping that the pregnancy has an effect on my students once I tell them. I would love for them to be better behaved for the pregnant lady hehe. Also maybe they will do a better job picking up my floor for me.
