Don’t stress about this.  It’s not your fault that they were irresponsible!  Let them know they can get on the early shuttle, or they can drive themselves.  End of story.  If the shuttle is full, then they are on their own.

My suggestion is to create “tickets” with their names on them for those who RSVPed by the deadline and were in your original count for the shuttle.  Those who did not RSVP will not have tickets and will not be able to use that shuttle time, they’re just SOL.

@beekiss2: good call!

@7SEVENJ9: it will be okay. The only thing that is certain about weddings is that things will go wrong. Maybe this is the bad thing that will happen and make everything else run smooth as glass 🙂

@7SEVENJ9:  I’d have the hotel give them out at check in.  The ones you say that didn’t RSVP but are checking in early can get their tickets that say for “2:30” bus and at the bottom say something like “otherwise, you must provide your own transportation to venue.”

Or give the shuttle driver a list of names of the people who did RSVP.

I agree with lilacwire – give the driver a list of names!

You don’t need to be dealing with this!

If you don’t want to entrust the job to the driver, could you just give a trusted friend or relative a list of names and he/she could be like the “bouncer” for the shuttle?

I would tell your “friends” that there will be a list for each shuttle.  They are assigned to the 2:30 shuttle.  If they miss that one, they will need to grab a taxi or drive themselves because the later shuttle will be FULL.  Tell them to start drinking EVEN EARLIER if they want to pre-party.  That’s really classy of them to want to be drunk at your ceremony, By The Way.

I’m thinking there are bigger things on your plate to deal with than this.  Let. It. Go.
