Oh I HATE that.  Moreover, people chewing ice.  I can’t STAND the noise.  I have to eat something crunchy too for it to be okay.

Haha, I HATE this, too. It’s my #1 pet peeve. My officemate smacks like a madwoman when she eats lunch; I generally have to leave the room because it makes me crazy.

I hate the sound of anyone chewing anything. Which makes me really concious of how I chew. Nothing is worse than sitting in class and having to listen to someone chew gum like its the last piece on earth.

Ughhhh that’s the worst! It’s even more terrible when they are eating something stinky, like doritios or fritos or cheese popcorn. People gross me out. I once had a 7:45 am class and some guy brought a footlong meatball sub into class and sat 2 chairs away from me eating the entire time and just smacking away. He even loaded the stupid thing with onions. I left early because I was gagging. Gross.

That is one of my pet peeves.  I have two close friends who smack and chew with their mouths open.  Both are men.  It drives me crazy.  I want to scream at them to shut their effing mouths.

When I was little, I remember sitting at the table and learning to chew with my mouth closed with my mom.  We weren’t even having a meal.  It was just for practice!  My grandfather was coming to visit, and it was one of his pet peeves as well, so she made me practice eating properly before he came to visit.  I should try this with my friends.

I hate pretty much all mouth noises, but loud chewing/smacking is the worst.

A couple of weeks ago (when I was in the height of wedding stress) I finally did something I have never had the courage to do – I asked someone who was sitting next to me, chewing her gum with her mouth open, to stop it. I’ve asked family members to do this before (or, more truthfully, shouted, snapped, or glared at them until they stopped), but I’ve never had the courage to ask a non-family member to cease and desist with the disgusting open-mouth chewing before. But I was stuck sitting next to this woman in a five-hour-long class, and I knew I couldn’t take that sound for the entire time. So I asked her to please chew her gum more quietly. She just ended up spitting it out instead.

Immediately after, I felt like such a jerk for about 5 minutes, until I realized a) she wasn’t mad at me for asking her to stop, and b) it got me what I wanted, i.e. no more slurpy chewing sounds in my ear. I’m seriously going to try and do this more often from now on.

I’m so bad that I can’t go to the movie theatre anymore (haven’t been in 2 years).  I can’t concentrate when someone is CHOMPING on their popcorn or pulling their sour patch kids out of their braces.

Why is it when people go to the movies they think they are invisible?!
