I am in Las Vegas and for a heavy afternoon tea we are paying $66/pp without alcoholic beverages.  With those it should come in around $100/pp

@MsBrooklynA: It’s Canada… drinks are expensive.  I think that’s why we so rarely have open bars.  Wedding venues are definitely the worst, because they know they’ve got you.  Unless you’re like my guests and choose to tailgate in the parking lot…

$15 a person right outside of Chicago. That includes a sit down dinner with choice of 4 entrees (also a vegetable and starch) and a salad course. Also bread and water with lemon. These are the cheapest I have found and the caterer has amazing reviews and amazing food!

Ours was $13 per person and included Tri-tip, pasta bar, mashed potato bar w/mushroom gravy, BBQ chicken, salad, rolls, and wontons with sweet chili sauce.  The food was AMAZING!

ETA: this was in Orange County, CA – not a cheap place, so awesome deals CAN be found!  😀

About $25 per person for the meal and a salad, tea or water. Alcohol and soda are extra, but we had a cash bar, so if anyone wanted those, we didn’t pay for them. Except for our bridal party and immediate family. 🙂

In Banff, Alberta it’s about $85/plate not including booze or any of the cocktail hour food. Buffets per plate are $95 I think.

Including taxes and gratiuity it was probably over $200 per person…before all that stuff, we paid $165 per person. That included 8 passed hor’ds at cocktail hour, 5 hour open bar, sit down service, 4 course meal, etc. (but no cake!).

we arent actually paying per plate, because we are having buffet style food done by a friendor, so we are paying for  fixed amount of trays of food. Overall it works out to be less than $10 per person.. and it will be enough food for everyone to have seconds, plus its an actual full dinner. needless to say i’m pretty pleased about it

We are looking at about $28 and that includes full dinner, unlimited non alcoholic beverages, open bar up to $2000, apps and cake per person. Including Tax. Oh and I’m about 40mins from Pittsburgh, PA getting married in WV.

About an hour north of NYC we are paying $100 per place (for Friday night – Saturday was $125).  This includes cocktail hour, 4 hour reception with salad, pasta and entre and cake and some other dessert stuff.  Also top shelf open bar for the whole 5 hours.  We have to have a minimum of 130 people and we are inviting 200.  It hurts sometimes to add those numbers up but really we are getting a lot out of the $100 and the place is beautiful.

In MI we are torn between going with a package that includes bar set-up (we have to supply alcohol), appetizers, 4 meat buffet or 2 meat plated dinner, late night snack, and the cutting of the cake for $58 per person

    OR

Plated meals ranging between 30-35 per plate or 3 meat buffet @ 34.95 per person but we have to pay for the above mentioned separately if we go this route.
