@Azyriah:  Do you know if the seller is sure of the hip area measurement? Did she just give you her hip size(32) because she fits in the dress? Maybe look up the dress designer’s size chart to see if the original dress would accommodate size 34 hips for that size the seller has, and then inquire with the seller if she altered the dress down to fit her hips?

I completely understand your dilemma, I have wide hips measuring 37 yet I’m only 5’2″. I had to go up a dress size in Sottero & Midley because the size that would fit me everywhere else wouldn’t accommodate my hips!

I know what you mean. I ordered my gown and it is 2″ too small in my hips. So I am dieting trying to lose weight in the mean time…HOWEVER, I bought spanx as a backup cuz it should suck u in total about 1-2″.

My dress from Maggie Sottero (Deidre) does not have any room to let out!

^I am 5’3″ with 43.5″ hips! LOL So I had to order a size closest as the size up would swollow me everywhere else.

A-lines normally flair out (think of an ‘A’ shape). My BMs bought their dresses going only by their waists and bust measurements because the A-line flairs out and “didn’t matter”. Personally, I would buy it. See if the seller will negotiate lower just because you are “unsure” if it will fit. If she is smart, she will sell at a cheaper price because the longer she has it, the more unlikely it will sell (as fashion is always changing and new dresses are always coming out).

I would def do so! Get them, try them on and measure your hips. I got my spanx off of eBay for $25 including shipping. You wouldnt think it slims you that much but u gotta think it slims ALL over (not just the right hip 2″ LOL) so it adds up to alot!

I got the ultra high ones that go from like rib cage to the middle of your thighs in nude color. They are UGLY but no one will know or see them!  🙂

Is it an A-Line type gown or more so mermaid or fit n flare? If its A-Line you should be good! If its fit n flare try the spanx method before you commit.

Any good seamstress would leave the fabric in, incase it needs to be let out again! See if she can ask her seamstress.
