Well. Over the weekend I got engaged to by far the perfect man, with by far the perfect ring! The proposal was perfect! After church we noticed our doxie had gotten into a paper bag and had it stuck around her. It was cute, we tore it off and about an hour later while on the front pourch I noticed she had a cloth wrapped around her.( We live in the middle of our heavily wooded property, in a 3 story log home he built) so I laughed, thinking she picked up more trash somewhere. I go to pick her up and notice its tied onto her. By the time I realise my ring is tied to her Shawn is on his knee. It was killer cuteness! There was my custom made, vintage setting 2.60+ ct black (had to have black!) Diamond ring. So, now we are planning like wild indians. We are getting married the first Saturday of January (time crunch for upcoming events/his children) and if there wasnt enough time already now we can not find a wedding band that dosnt make a huge gap due to the size of my center stone! The designer cant have one made until mid febuary…. While in Kay’s Jewlers yesterday I was informed they are having a diamond show case and a jewler will be there with all sorta of black and white diamonds and will be custom making all bands that day! You take them home then too. Problem is…its a week after my wedding!!! We have a “until that one is ready” band to use for the week but… I feel like thats insane! What do we do? Any where as to where to look? We are not opposed to online and are on no budget.. has anyone ever heard of this Kay’s event? Heres some photos of my ring to help!

@Djacks88: I absolutely love your ring. If I were you, I would just use that one for the ceremony and look for a band afterwards when you aren’t so pressured. It will be WAY better than getting a so-so one right now when you have no time or money. Trust me! You want to keep it forever, so I would put that off until you have more time and budget and not so much stress 🙂

That’s a beautiful ring! Congrats!
I would do some kind of “fake” ring for the ceremony and then get a real one after.
And dang that is one FAST engagement!! haha

@Djacks88: very pretty! If you have a gap, if you get two simple ones and put them on either side it might center it more.

Sorry for the top two pictures!! And spelling errors, I sent this on my phone! We do not have a “budget limit” as to the price we want to go over or stay under, we just want perfect! The ring we have has a really large gap that dosnt bother me but “rubs him” wrong. sorry me e-ring looks so dirty! I was feeding/playing with the dogs!

There is another thread running on the bee at the moment with someone who has had a disastrous relationship with Kay, and apparently that bee is not the only one. I would try to find another custom jeweler who can do the work for you. We just finished upgrading my set and, all told, it took a month but he offered to work faster. We just live a significant drive away from him and didn’t want to go back and forth. Ask around and I bet you can find someone. The prices are not any more than anywhere else plus, I wore a stand in ring for the entire time until my final set was ready and they let me wear that one for free. So, you could possibly do that or even get a real inexpensive plain band for the ceremony. Also, at a wedding I was at this summer the bride borrowed a ring to use for the ceremony because she was not going to have a wedding band at all.
