Sooo I secretly hated my proposal but at the same time appreciated the cuteness of it? My fiance literally popped the question right as I came out of the bathroom while making very un-ladylike comments about my bathroom experience. He told me he did it right then because he did not know how else I would be surprised and that he could not wait any longer. I like how simple and cute it was but was kinda disappointed he didn’t try harder. We have so many places around where we live that are special to us and I would have definitely preferred the proposal to be at any of those places. Oh well.

I think the perfect proposal is when the man you love asks you to be his wife (and if I’m being honest with myself), on one knee with a ring.

Everything else is just bells and whistles and I think there’s wayyyyyyy too much focus on it.

2caratengagementringsguide:  Just to warn you, this will probably get shut down. I dont think research is allowed.

For the record, I plan to refuse ANY proposal that doesn’t take place in the perfect lighting in a beautiful location with a full on flash mob, celebrity guests, a photographer, videographer, and a basket of kittens waiting for me.

My fiance Proposed in Niagara on the lake (In Ontario)- the only thing I wish I had done differently was to walk to the Gazebo that he kept trying to convince me to go to…. There was about a foot of snow and my boots were leaking- so my feet were wet and I didn’t (obviously) have a clue why we needed to walk to the gazebo..when it was dark and cold anyways… so i refused to move from my spot on the rocks…so thats where he did it!

Knowing the full story now…he wanted to propose in the Gazebo because it reminded him of the one in my mom’s back yard where I spent many summer days with my dad before he passed… yeahhhh it was very thoughtful – and a tear jerker for me!

I would change nothing about my proposal. People put way too much emphasis on being grandiose these days.

While the man I love on bended knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him was more than perfect, he gets major bonus points for involving me in the ring purchase and whisking me away for the weekend to do so.

Everyone is different! Some like it done with lots of folks around, others prefer a more private setting. I loved everything about my proposal! It was private, just my fiance and me, and completely unexpected! He did the one knee with the ring. It brings tears to my eyes just remembering how beautiful the moment was <3

KC-2722:  Yes! I was involved in picking out the ring and my fiance had a weekend getaway planned for us to celebrate since he proposed on a Friday evening 🙂 He knew the reason for the weekend trip. I thought it was just a quick break before the whole holiday season rush!

I actually had the perfect proposal. Sunset horseback ride on the beach in nicaragua(vacation) with a photographer and champagne. Message in a bottle. Very, very well planned and thought out. Spectacular. Do it up, she will love it. It’s a memory.
