I would get it resized to a 5.75 and then just put in sizing beads or a spring insert. I wouldn’t get it resized too often even if it is free as it can hurt the integrity of your ring.

If it is that uncomfortable I would get it sized back up. Also remember that if you plan on wearing on wedding band, adding an extra ring will also make your rings feel tighter. If it is tight now, it will most likely feel really uncomfortable afted adding another one.

renee2019 :  just don’t take it off, I just wear my ring all the time, it would probably be hard to get off in the mornings but I don’t try so it’s not an issue for m3

Have you tried putting water/a tiny bit of lotion on your finger to take it off? Obviously clean it often if you use lotion, but I watched this video the other day because we were ordering my ring. I realized a size 4 was actually loose on me.. So we ordered a 3.75.

I can’t find a link to the video but basically she was saying you should have trouble taking it off. & your fingers are always more swollen in the morning. She would put hand sanitizer on her finger before ‘walking it off’ her finger. She said especially with engagement rings & rocks on top, you need a smaller than normal size.

ETA: Also a helpful tip was the cold water test. Basically when you need to put on your ring/take it off and your hands are swollen, run very cold water over them or dunk them in ice water to make the swelling go down. lol Complicated, but I’d rather have a ring I have to work to take off at certain times of the day than have one that shakes off when my fingers are not swollen.

I had a very similar issue. Ring was a 6.5, had it sized down to a 6 (I made the mistake of getting sized with swollen morning fingers) and it still felt too big. My jeweler suggested sizing beads opposed to resizing it yet again.

We kept it at a 6 and added sizing beads and I couldn’t be happier. When my fingers are freezing, it slides a bit, but there is no worry that it will come off. I do not find the beads uncomfortable.

I don’t think my fingers swell that much, but my engagement ring is size 4 and I feel like I should have gotten it sized to 3.75. My ring moves up and down on my finger when I shake it (but has not fallen off)  I’ve been contemplating about getting it resized but because of the thin band, I’m worried about ruining it..i still don’t know what to do!

I am the same size and have the same issue! Swollen fingers in the morning when I put on my ring.. esp now that it’s hot out. I feel like this is probably normal lol. I may get sizing beads but am waiting until I have a band. (Still searching) Currently using ring noodles.
