Bees,
I own a soy candle shop. I’m surrounded by 115+ scents of candles all day long, and it’s lovely. Not headache-inducing or over powering in the slightest.
There are currently 4 females here in the store, 2 are younger, and someone is wearing an INSANE amount of some kind of soft/musk/dark/floral something or other, and it’s driving me batshit crazy. I’m sneezing, my head hurts, this is NO BUENO. For someone to wear so much perume for me to notice in a candle shop is complete insanity.
For the love of all that is holy, one squirt of whatever you wear is enough. Your nose might have gotten used to it and you can’t smell it unless you do 5 squrits, but please, for the rest of us… one squirt. Just one. Please.
One squirt.
Thank you,
KristenGettingMarried

That’s why I rotate fragrances when I wear them so my nose doesn’t get used to it. Gross.

Amen! Those of us who are allergic to perfume will be particularly grateful.

@KristenGotMarried:
Oh wow! I’d hate to be you =( I cannot stand it when people walk around with too much on, whether it’s perfume or males cologne. I remember when I was younger, this cute boy must have I don’t know, spilled his entire bottle of cologne because when he was on the other side of the room I could smell him…I unfortunately put my foot in my mouth and made him sad when I said something about it. XD…
[Edit]: I will say I have a slightly evil streak once in a while. A co-worker always got on my nerves and said she couldn’t stand strong smells, so one day I made sure I washed in the Bath and Body sensual body wash, rubbed on the lotion and then rolled on a little more of the scent. I was just down right mean, and I don’t regret it because truth surfaced and she had stabbed me in the back so many times so her misery was a good thing in the end.

When I worked at my University bookstore as a cashier, it was so difficult to deal with perfume! I would literally start sneezing around certain customers! I consider it sense abuse. 🙂

I used to be really sensitive to perfume when I was younger and I hated being around older ladies because they always seem to be the worst offenders! I have to admit, I’m a two-squirt girl, but only with body spray. With perfume I only do one!

Where is the freaking ‘like’ button?! I love the coffee smell at work, so when someone comes in with perfume/cologne I can smell clear across the lobby it drives me insane!!!

I actually read once that you’re not supposed to spray perfume directly on yourself. You’re supposed to mist it in front of you and walk through it. That gives the right amount, plus diffused coverage. That’s what I do now and it’s just right. 🙂

I wear Philosophy’s “Pure Grace” perfume and people compliment it all the time. It smells like out-of-the-shower smell. Put the smelly perfumes away at work!!!

Totally agree!
If I can smell you from 15 feet away and/or if I choke and cough when I’m near you, you are wearing TOO MUCH perfume!
