This morning i woke up with the excitment that the wedding is literally 1 month away!! wohoo! But this morning i also got the dreadful p word.. My period is here. Now im not on birth control due to reactions my body gets from it so i have no way of altering my period through medicine. my body has been taking its natural course every month but on a different day. i noticed a pattern though, its never exactly on the same day but it moves up the calander about a day or two earlier from the last time i recieved my period. So as of right now I am about 90% sure that it will be there for my wedding 🙁 also some girls the more they stress the more their period doesnt come but the minute i start really stressing my period comes earlier then expected. Some may not feel like this is a big deal.. But i always get the worst side effects from my period the moodyness, the bloating, the killer cramps, and the heavy flow especially in the beginning of it… who wants to go through all that on their big day, especially wearing all white!?
so out of desperateness lol is there any miracle pill i can take to skip my period for then next month?
brides who have had their period in the past? did you just deal with it? how did it go?

i figured i wouldnt have much luck really.. thought id try to ask around maybe there was something out there that i didnt know about. Even if my body didnt react to birth control, would it be to late to get on it to make a difference?

Without medicine, I don’t know what to suggest. As someone who has also had negative reactions to birth control, I understand where you’re coming from when you say you can’t be on it.
I would suggest you talk to your gynecologist. Explain your hesitance about BC; maybe he/she could introduce you to one with which you wouldn’t have negative effects. I don’t know if a month is really a long enough time to get your body regulated to a new med, but it wouldn’t hurt to call and talk to her/him.

Maybe try one of the birth controls that gives your period 4 times a year?? Not sure how they work but maybe it will stall yours??

@disneybride11: Oh, rats! I would talk to your Gyno and see if you have any other options. I believe there is a shot where you only bleed a few times a year. The drawback is that you are sooo close to your wedding day and your body will not be completely adjusted. Good Luck!

I was supposed to start the day before…I ended up starting the Sunday before, so by wedding day, it was over. You never know what your body will do because of stress!

I hate the pill and am charting, but went on the pill for 4 days to avoid getting it on my wedding day. My doctor and I discussed taking progesterone, estrogen or the pill and we opted for the pill. I had no side effects other than no period (some spotting during honeymoon) and it was worth it.
I would talk to your doctor and see what options there are.
