You could always head into a doctor for a blood test that way you’d know 100% for sure.

One thing to keep in mind: Stress can often cause a period to be severely delayed.

So, ironically, stressing about *not* getting your period can actually make it come even later!

I wouldn’t worry too much, since both your tests have been negative. I’m sure you’ll get your period in a few days. πŸ™‚ In the meantime, try to take it easy!

See your doctor. I have a friend who did both a HPT and got a urine test at PP a few days later which were both negative. Blood test confirmed she was preggers.

Mine was two weeks late last month – a very stressful time for me! It didn’t help that I was stressing out over some serious crap going on with work, then having a late period just made me more stressed so, yeah, your period can definitely be delayed by stress and hormones. (I don’t think I’ve used the word “stress” so many times in one paragraph!)

I would recommend trying a pregnancy test just to put your mind at ease for a few more days. If it’s more than a week late, then you can start worrying.

Have you been sick lately? Sometimes illness can delay ovulation therefore leading to a late period.  I can’t take hormones (I got crowned “hormone sensitive” several years ago after severe migraines and acne and 48 hours with Mirena made half my hair fall out in clumps!) but got ParaGard the non-hormonal IUD two years ago.  It’s lovely once you get about 6 months in.  If you’re wanting something non-hormonal it’s a great option. πŸ™‚  Good luck!

@Jilliebean1:  Haha, me too. And to be honest… I wouldn’t worry too much.

According to Planned Parenthood, withdrawal is 96% effective when *always* done correctly, and it’s still 73% effective when you don’t always do it correctly.
