I would wait up until 10 days, I’ve been that late and not been pregnant.  I was also 20 days late and pregnant.  so it’s really a toss up sometimes.

It’s a period, not a train.  Unless you are on a hormonal birth control where you get a precisely timed withdrawal bleed, there is a pretty big window of what is in the normal range.  I was three days later than my app said I would be this month.  I’ve been up to a week late during times of great change or stress and skipped a month during a time of extreme stress.  Hormones and bodies are tricky imprecise things.

This was me every month.  Legit.  I went off BC end of last year and was in full blown panic-mode basically every month for like 5 months, lol.  You’re totally fine, I promise.  Mine has been TEN days late before and still not pregnant.  I totally get the crippling anxiety though, and it’s a bitch.  But if you took a test and it’s negative, you’re good.  Anxiety and stress will only push it off longer, and after you go off BC your cycle is all out of whack for a good long while (even over a year).  It’s totally ok for it to not be clockwork, I promise. smile

A few months ago mine was 5 days late for no apparent reason. As long as the tests are negative, you’re not pregnant. She’s just running late this month is all.

I’ve been 10 days late because of stress and diet changes.

anonobee17 :  I know. Especially when it’s not something you want, it can be SO frightening! It’s strange for me to think that one day it’ll suddenly flip and I’ll be super anxious waiting for a positive…but that’s years down the line.

One time, two years ago, I had a cycle than ran 35 DAYS LATE! So many pregnancy tests were taken – every single one was negative. I was freaking out for weeks, but always felt better after a negative test. Eventually I got the next one, and I’d never been so happy to see my period in my life lol. I guess I just might not have ovulated that month, who knows? Uteruses do as they please.

Not to scare or stress you more but….. my period was over a week late and I got a negative pregnancy test….. then two days later I got the positive. I was having what I thought was my normal premenstral cramps but it turns out they weren’t.

Girl. I feel your pain. I actually skipped two months once. TWO MONTHS. Then I bleed for a month. Turns out that’s not uncommon.   I will also say though stress does a number on you. Around the time my mom passed away I was late, and I was on BC.

If you are using condoms correctly (and I assume you are!) the chances of an unwanted pregnancy are slim! It’s far more likely you ovulated later because of stress which pushed back the start of your LP which in turn pushed back your due date for AF.

I highly suggest reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility – there was so much I had no idea about relating to my reproductive system that I learned from this book, and it’s helpful even if you’re not TTC.
