Period is now 3 days late…negative pregnancy test

It’s likely because you just stopped taking BC a few months ago. Your periods are going to be all over the place for awhile, until your body’s natural hormones get settled. I’m on BC now, so my period comes every 28 days like clockwork, but before I started the pill, my cycle could be anywhere from 28 to 35 days. Never could predict it, which was annoying because I always had to travel with tampons in my purse for like a week before my period started, just in case it showed up that day.

Condoms are very effective. If you’re using them every time, I’m sure you’re fine.

anonobee17 :  Here is what I can tell you:

the negative tests are telling you you are almost surely not pregnant at this moment and your period is for sure not late because of pregnancy.  It is incredibly rare to be 2-3 days ‘overdue’ due to pregnancy without a positive test.

like PPs have said, almost surely you ovulated late–which means your period will be delayed by however many days late your ovulation was.  Is it possible you could still become pregnant between now and when your AF is actually due? Yes.  It is possible that there is a fertilized egg in you ready to implant.  It’s even possible you still haven’t ovulated this cycle, or that you only ovulated very recently, and if your condom fails tonight you could get pregnant.  So keep using protection.

anonobee17 :  stop stressing over it. I know it’s hard, and easier said than done but I’m sure it isn’t helping AF

If pregnancy was causing your delayed period, the lines would be very strong on the test.

stress can cause your period to be delayed as well.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I had about 7 negative pregnancy tests (pee on a stick) AND a negative blood test…. and I was in fact pregnant! Sorry if this doesn’t calm your nerves but people saying if te test is negative then you’re aren’t pregnant are wrong.

If it makes you feel better, there are times in my life where my period skips some months (currently happening right now) due to a lot of stress or if I’ve been more active than normal. Switching birth control also makes it more wacky for the next six months. I’m not saying you aren’t pregnant, but maybe there are outside factors affecting your period?
