I’ve always had what I think are pretty normal periods–not too heavy and not too light. Mine just started yesterday, and it was SUPER heavy for the first few hours, but now it’s super light, as if it’s around the 4th day of my period. It’s also very thick, like there’s a lot of tissue in it and not much blood. What could be the cause of this? I think I’ve been less stressed out lately, I’m not on BC or anything, and I’ve never been pregnant or had sex, if that helps.

it happens I wouldnt be worried about it if your not having sex and your not in any pain or anything. Your hormones fluctuate all the time and it could be that. If it happens again I would ask your doctor to be on the safe side. mine is heavy sometimes and light others I dont worry unless I am having other symptoms

ANY change in your daily life can affect your period…have you changed medications or gone on something new? Been eating differently? Changed your exercise routine? Evne something like taken a vacation? Any of those can affect your flow. I agree with the other poster that you should let your MD know, especially if you haven’t seen this before.
