Hi there –
As I posted before, I’m new to the pill and have a question about the withdrawal bleeding. This is still my first pack and I am currently 5 days into the placebo week (my pack only has 21 pills and no sugar pills, just a week off). The first day I was off the active pills I had some spotting, same with day two. Day 3 I got “my period”; it was heavier and darker red. Day 4 into the placebo week, I had a lighter bleed, and now day 5, I have almost nothing. Is it normal for it to only last 2 days? Just wondering if this could be implantation bleeding?
Thanks!

It is completely normal. My periods were very light while I was on the pill…day 1 would be some red bleeding, followed by 1-2 days of spotting.

It’s very common for BC to make periods shorter and lighter than usual. I also think it’s likely that your body is getting used to the hormones and your periods on the pill haven’t regulated yet. You can always take a pregnancy test if you are concerned.
My periods on the pill were always the same length as off the pill (5 days – but 2-3 days of regular bleeding followed by a few very light days), and significantly lighter. But that varies a lot person to person.

I went on the pill in March and since then it’s been anywhere from 3-5 days. It’s getting shorter and shorter.

Usually a good 4-5 days for me, but I had heavy periods before going on BC (had to at 16 because of that and insane cramps)

I was on the pill for 9 years and my periods were pretty much always 5 days. But many people have very short and/or light periods on the pill. You may also find that next month it will be longer. Everyone is different, but I doubt you are pregnant, take a test to be sure.

Implantation bleeding is usually like, a spot. Not multiple days of bleeding.
It sounds like a regular period to me.

Totally normal!! I’m off the pill now but I was on it for the last 10 years and my absolute longest period (including light spotting) was about 5 days. Most months it only lasted about 3.

That’s normal. Before I started taking BC, my periods would last a full 7 days, with severe cramping the whole time. (I hated my life.) I’ve been on the pill for 7 years now, and my periods only last 3 days, with no cramps. My period always starts on the 4th day of the placebo pills and it’s over by the 7th day.

Mine usually last 3-4 days. They last up to 7 when I’m not on BC.

When I’m on the pill mine is super light for 1-2 days and that’s it. I sometimes barely notice i’ve even gotten it.
