This must be the silly “curse” my grandma warned me about for having my Wedding on April Fools Day in 2011! (Hope Not)
After picking the perfect fun & funny wedding date my fiance figured out that I will be on the 3rd or 2nd day of my period on our WEDDING DAY!
Has anyone experienced, know anyone this happened to or know of any way to cheat and skip a period? (If that is even possible)
I take the pill (Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo), I heard a rumor that there is a way to skip periods by skipping pills?
All I keep thinking about is a picture of a beautiful Wedding Dress with a big RED STAIN! lol Help brides!

All you have to do is skip the white placebo pills & just go into your next pack. You might spot a touch, but shouldn’t get your period.
Unfortunately for me, I am not on birth control & it’s too late to start, so I will be having my period on the wedding day & probably for the duration of the honeymoon. Sexy!

btw.. there is ALSO still time for us to change the wedding date to another day in April.
But honestly.. it’s really hard to let go of that perfect Wedding Date (in my eyes). Is it worth changing the DAY of my wedding because of my PERIOD?!

Yes, just skip the placebo pills. After the 3rd (active) week of pills, start the next pack right away. I’ll be doing this during my honeymoon…

I would talk with your doctor before you skip any of the placebo pills. Most often, it’s okay if you are on a monophasic regimen (all the tablets are the same strength). It may be different as you are on a triphasic (ortho tri-cyclen lo – 3 different strengths) pack. In 5+ years in a pharmacy, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a physician approve skipping the placebo pill on a non-monophasic regimen :/ I would definitely call your doctor, just to get the most accurate information 🙂

Talk with your doctor; mine said we can move it around as long as we discuss it a few months before the big day. No worries you wont have a stain!

Since I am on the pill, I would just skip my period if I knew it would be on my wedding day lol. You can totally do it and it’s completely safe (well, depends on your pill, I guess. I would talk to you doctor). I’m on alesse and I’ve skipped my period before. I only do it when it’s a really inopportune time to have it (like going camping or something) and it’s always worked perfectly for me.

This happened to me and (TMI ahead) it was my worst flow day too! I ended up fine. My sister (bless her heart) helped me out in the bathroom and no one was the wiser. Just know that it has and can be done, plus you are so busy that day that you won’t even think about it!

Well since about 95% of the “brides” on here are most likely WOMEN (hey, to each their own) I figured there is no way I can be the only Bride with “PERIOD” on her mind!
I’m glad that you all are understanding exactly what I’m going through. All make some really good suggestions and points. I will NOT let me PERIOD WIN! haha
I will surely be asking my doctor if Its ok if I skip the ortho lo pill and if there is a way I can skip my period or delay it.
Any other girls take Ortho here and skipped with no problems?
Periods really do suck… lol

Kate!!! Sorry to hear that!
Funny enough my mother already offered to help lift my wedding dress and help with my tampons and reminding to change them on my wedding day if I DO have my period. Haha very strange yet loving.
What really bums me, is I really refuse to change my wedding date because of my PERIOD (part of being a damn woman). But I also dread dealing with the PMS, bloating , extreme cramps, acne break out.. on the day I am suppose to feel AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL!
Crap…I need to find a way I can trick my body. lol

I am skipping mine at this very moment because I am in my friend’s wedding this weekend (hahah sorry if TMI!). I also take ortho and have skipped in many times in the 7 years I’ve been taking it with no problems at all. My mom is a doc and says it’s fine. I def don’t do it all the time though, but in this situation…i think it’s ok!

ABSOLUTELY talk to your doctor before doing this. Ortho tri-cyclen is NOT a monophasic pill and going straight through to the next pack could potentially really mess you up.

By The Way.. this WHOLE POST is Too Much Information don’t worry. I crossed that line when I posted this topic, we’re all women it’s cool. 🙂
